Dear Bobcat Ohana,

While last week was short, it was certainly packed with meaningful activities and opportunities for our students and families! Wednesday afternoon, with the assistance of Officer Horner and the Orlando Police Department, we proudly swore in 43 fifth-grade students as our 2026–27 Safety Patrols. We are excited to see these young leaders represent Baldwin Park Elementary and serve our school community throughout the year.

The week continued with a beautiful show of red, white, and blue throughout our classrooms and hallways on Friday, as we honored our first responders and remembered the lives impacted by September 11, 2001. Thank you to our families for helping our Bobcats participate in this important day of remembrance.

We also had a wonderful evening at Bobcat Bash at Gator’s Dockside Thursday! A huge thank you to our Bobcat Fund President, Darby Poole, the Bobcat Fund, and all of the parents, staff, and community members who came out to support our school. Your continued generosity and involvement make such a difference. Because of the incredible support of our Bobcat community, we are able to provide our students with diverse, engaging, and memorable educational opportunities.

One of those opportunities is coming up in early October. Thanks to the Bobcat Fund, our students will have the opportunity to participate in an exciting author visit with Shawna Tenney, author of Anonymoose, one of this year’s Sunshine State Junior Books. Parents, please be on the lookout for permission slips—this is an opportunity our Bobcats won’t want to miss!

Finally, a reminder that our first School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting will take place tomorrow, Monday, September 14, at 3:15 p.m. in the Media Center. We welcome all stakeholders to attend, as SAC meetings are open to the public. We look forward to working together to support the continued growth and success of our Bobcat Ohana!

Our first School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting of the year will be held Monday, September 14, 2026, at 3:15 p.m. in the BPE Media Center. We have a full agenda planned, including introductions of our SAC Board, election of SAC officers, annual training, ratification of our SAC bylaws, and a review of our school data, budget, and School Improvement Plan. 

As a reminder, SAC meetings are open to all stakeholders, and we welcome parents, staff, and community members to join these important conversations. Together, we can collaborate, share ideas, and work to support the continued growth and success of our Bobcat Ohana at Baldwin Park Elementary. 💙🐾
