BPE Family, 

It’s Sunday, and what a wonderful week we had at Baldwin Park! Last week, we celebrated Start With Hello Week, with students and staff coming together each day around a different theme, but always with one shared purpose: to raise awareness about social isolation and empower students to build an inclusive, connected, and safe school community. From saying hello to making new connections, spreading positivity, celebrating our differences, and reminding one another that we all belong, our Bobcats truly showed what it means to be one Ohana.💙

Continuing that celebration of connection and community, Thursday evening brought International Night, where we had the opportunity to recognize and explore the many cultures and countries represented within our own community. It was a beautiful reminder of how much we can learn from one another. We also enjoyed a great PTA meeting, where families received valuable information and updates, and many had the chance to pick up some additional books at our Book Fair. I hope everyone also found a little time to enjoy this beautiful, cooler Fall weather!

It is hard to believe that the first quarter is nearly over—but it’s true! Tomorrow also marks two months since I was appointed the proud principal of Baldwin Park Elementary School. I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to each of you for your warm welcome, encouragement, and continued support. Thank you for placing your trust in me to lead, serve, and work alongside you as we continue making Baldwin Park an incredible place for our children to learn and grow.

I believe deeply that every child deserves to feel known, valued, supported, and capable of success. Education is about so much more than academics—it is about building relationships, discovering potential, creating opportunities, and helping every child find their place and their voice. Families also have an important voice when it comes to our school and their child's education. Next week, please keep an eye out for our Fall Stakeholder Survey, where you will have an opportunity to share your thoughts and opinions.

Thank you for being such an important part of our BPE Ohana. I am so grateful to be on this journey with you!

Rehearsals take place starting at 7:15 am every Tuesday and Thursday unless noted. We will begin rehearsals in the music room (131). Students attending rehearsals must be dropped off by an adult. Parents of students interested in being cast must also attend a mandatory evening meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Further information will be given out at rehearsals. All 4th and 5th-grade students are eligible to audition for this show.
