Dear Baldwin Park Families,
We had an amazing first week of school this past week. As I visited classrooms I saw engaged students who were eager to learn and grow their minds. I also saw teachers who were creating fun and enriching learning experiences for our students. I cannot wait to continue to see all the amazing learning and growth all year long.
As we begin another exciting school year, I want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of consistent school attendance. At Baldwin Park Elementary, we believe that every day counts in your child’s academic journey. Regular attendance is essential for building strong learning habits, fostering social connections, and ensuring academic success.
📌 Key Points of Our Attendance Policy:
-
Students must be present every day unless they are ill or have an excused absence.
-
Excused absences include illness, medical appointments, family emergencies, and religious holidays (with proper documentation).
-
Parents must notify the school via email or in writing within 48 hours of an absence to ensure it is properly documented. (Phone calls are not permitted)
-
Tardiness and early check-outs disrupt learning and should be avoided whenever possible.
🚨 Important Attendance Regulations:
-
Five (5) tardies to school or five (5) early departures will equal one (1) unexcused absence. The authority to apply accumulated tardies and early departures as unexcused absences is granted to the School Board pursuant to Section 1003.02, Florida Statutes.
⚠️ Excessive absences or tardiness may result in intervention meetings and could impact student progress. We encourage families to schedule vacations and appointments outside of school hours whenever possible.
