Principal's Message

Aloha Ohana,

Bobcats, we had a fantastic first full week of school! We spent the week establishing routines and procedures, building strong classroom communities, and getting to know one another. Our students jumped right into engaging learning experiences, from practicing high-frequency words and creating All About Me posters to exploring place value and decimals. Book Club and STEM Club also kicked off this week, providing students with even more opportunities to make meaningful connections to learning while having fun. It has been wonderful to see our Bobcats learning, growing, and building relationships throughout the school!

Thank you to our AMAZING PTA and to all of our families and staff for helping make our Back to School Pep Rally such a fun and memorable event. Even though the rain cut the festivities short, a great time was had by all. We loved celebrating with you—and of course, Bobby the Bobcat and the Chick-fil-A cow were there to join in the fun!

PM1 Testing Begins This Week
We will begin PM1 testing on Tuesday, August 25th. Please help your child feel prepared and confident by making sure they:
  • Get a good night’s sleep each evening.
  • Eat a healthy breakfast.
  • Arrive at school on time and ready to learn.
Your encouragement and support make a big difference!

Safety First, Bobcats!
As we travel to and from school each day, please remember that safety is everyone’s responsibility, especially before and after school. Please remind your children to:
  • Walk or bike in groups whenever possible.
  • Always use the crosswalk.
  • Stop, look, and listen before crossing.
  • Stay alert and aware of their surroundings.
Always remember: if you see something, say something. For non-emergency concerns, please call 321-235-5300. We also want to remind families that parking by the condominiums across the street and blocking residential garages or entrances is prohibited. Thank you for being respectful of our neighbors and helping keep arrival and dismissal safe for everyone.

🛴 Microbility Reminder
Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) enforces a strict Micromobility Policy for e-bikes and e-scooters on all campus property. Under the rules, elementary and middle school students are completely banned from bringing motorized devices to school. Our grace period for e-mobility devices ends Friday, September 4, 2026. Please plan to make other transportation arrangements after the grace period ends. Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe.

💙 Get Involved, Bobcat Families!
There are so many wonderful ways to be part of our Bobcat family! Consider joining PTA, supporting the Bobcat Fund, or becoming a member of our SAC: School Advisory Council. Your involvement helps make Baldwin Park Elementary an even stronger school community.

Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and Bobcat pride! Have a wonderful weekend, and we’ll see you Monday!

Go Bobcats!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Galvin-Prepetit

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Ms. Barcus, and our Support Person of the Year, Ms. Glorimar!!! Thank you for your continued dedication to our school and community.

Academic Corner

FAST PM 1 testing provides our teachers and staff with valuable insight into where each student is academically at this point in the school year. This information helps us identify strengths, areas for growth, and opportunities to develop student-specific plans and targeted support that will help each child continue to grow and achieve future academic success.
