Aloha, Bobcat Families!
What another wonderful week it has been at Baldwin Park Elementary! As we continue to settle into the school year, our Bobcats are learning, growing, and building meaningful connections each day, and we are so proud of the enthusiasm and pride our students and staff continue to show throughout our school community.
To support this growth, we want to encourage all our Bobcats to make reading part of their nightly routine. Reading a little each night can make a big difference in building fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and a lifelong love of reading. We encourage students to explore a variety of books, including both fiction and nonfiction. After finishing a book, don’t forget to take the Accelerated Reader quiz, which provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding and celebrate their reading accomplishments. Families, thank you for supporting your child’s reading journey at home!
It has also been so exciting to see our teachers and students across all grade levels engaging in hands-on STEM activities throughout the week. These experiences give students opportunities to collaborate, think critically, solve problems, ask questions, and apply what they are learning in meaningful ways, helping bring learning to life through exploration and discovery.
Speaking of discovery...don't miss out on an opportunity to learn all about our Bobcat Fund and school initiatives for the 2026-2027 school year. Purchase your tickets now. Please join us for our upcoming Bobcat Bash on Thursday, September 10th, from 6:00 to 8 p.m. at Gator’s Dockside in Baldwin Park. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our Bobcat families and community members to network, mingle, and get to know one another. We will be introducing the Bobcat Fund Board, and I will share my strategic vision for Baldwin Park Elementary for the year ahead during a fun evening of connection, conversation, and school spirit.
Looking ahead to other ways to get involved, we want to share a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who expressed interest in serving on our School Advisory Council this year. We are grateful for your willingness to help make Baldwin Park Elementary the very best it can be, and we will send out an election ballot this week identifying our proposed SAC board. Remember, SAC meetings are open to all families and community members, whether or not you serve on the council, and your voice, ideas, and participation help strengthen our school. Our first SAC meeting will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 3:15 p.m. in the Media Center, and we hope to see you there!
Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and pride in Baldwin Park Elementary. When our school, families, and community work together, there is no limit to what our Bobcats can accomplish. Together, we are Baldwin Park! 💙🐾
Go Bobcats!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Galvin-Prepetit
